Solar Photovoltaic
Solar cables are used to interconnect PV panels. The circuit includes an inverter which plays the role of converting direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
Solar cable is a DC cable with rated voltage of 1.5 kV DC, the conductor is tin coated copper with cross linked insulation and sheath.
Solar panel efficiency is a measure of the amount of sunlight (irradiation) that falls on the surface of a solar panel and is converted into electricity.
Solar panel efficiency resided on two main factors, cell design and silicon type. Also quite important to reach top efficiency is the total panel efficiency, cell layout and configuration and panel size.
Panels built using high-cost IBC cells are currently the most efficient. However, panels using the latest monocrystalline PERC cells and advanced heterojunction (HJT) cells have achieved efficiency levels well above 20%.
Solar cables and wires are a critical part of any electrical system including photovoltaic system. Cable management is and will be one of the most important aspects of safety and longevity of every photovoltaic solar system.
The solar or PV equipment are installed outdoors and on rooftops and in open fields, the electrical conductors must be rated for UV sunlight resistance and be supported and secured properly.
The further away the panels are, the larger the wire gauge should be. The inverter converts DC power collected by the panels to AC power. These systems are typically outdoors, so cable used for this type of application needs to be UV radiation resistant and suitable for wet locations.
Improper design and poor cable selection can lead to safety hazards, reduced power output, and other performance issues.
Some of the certification to ask for could be the TÜV approved Solar cable, intended for the interconnection of the various elements of photovoltaic systems such as solar panel arrays.
Suitable for fixed installations internal and external, within unprotected pipes, or in similar closed systems. The cable is ozone-resistant according to EN50396, UV-resistant according to UNE-HD 605:2008 (HD605/A1), and is tested for durability according to EN 60216. The cable is tested to last 25 years.
